Realization
I chose the following three images to realize for my final project:

From left to right, they are reworkings of Attempting The Impossible, The Threshold Of The Forest and The Voice Of The Air. By choosing these three images to complete, I feel I touched on all of the important technology-critical messages that I wanted to convey.
→ Attempting The Impossible: With this image, I wanted to comment on the perception that many people hold that computers are capable of much more than they actually are. Computers are not the answer to every problem, nor are they some magical tool that can create a solution where none exists; computers are capable only of that of which their users are capable.
→ The Threshold Of The Forest: With this image, I wanted to explore the merging of the biological with the technological. Humans are steadily moving closer and closer to this point; it is only a matter of time before cyborgs of some sort exist. The ethical and moral issues that this intersection of the inanimate with the animate presents must be dealt with soon.
→ The Voice Of The Air: With this image, I wanted to present the idea that technology is an ever-present force in the lives of most RPI students. Technology is something that is always there, overshadowing all aspects of our lives. Is this positive or negative? Each person must answer that question for themselves and decide to what extent they will allow computers to influence their everyday lives.
I settled on the DCC Great Hall as my final location, as this area of campus has a high volume of foot traffic moving through it all day. I think the location was a good choice; students walking to class always at least turned to check out my work, and many stopped to take a closer look.
Here is a close-up view of my prints hanging on the wall. I'm very happy with the way the sizes of the three images balanced each other.
The area was still crowded when the class came to see the installation around 3:45 pm. You can see in this picture that there were several students sitting in the area with their laptops. The fact that there were still students in the area reaffirmed my initial instinct that this was the best location; I really think my work is going to get seen by a large number of people.
Hopefully, they won't get taken down for a while.
