Ideations
This page contains several examples of works by Magritte that I feel would be appropriate for this project. Of the works presented below, I will choose three to fully realize. Possible locations for displaying the finished works are discussed on the "Locations" page.
The Threshold Of The Forest
Replace brick with circuitry → invasiveness of technology; transition from the purely biological to the cyborg; technology robbing us of something that is essentially human

Attempting The Impossible
Replace palette & brush with some sort of PDA/tablet PC & pen → expecting of technology more than it can offer; trying to use technology to forge relationships in place of actual social contact
The Man With The Newspaper
Add man and with computer on table to three currently empty panels → computers, by themselves, have no significant effect on our lives; any impact computers do have on our lives is brought about by our interactions with them - us using our skills through them - rather than by some ability inherent in the computer
The Voice Of The Air
Replace metal bells with computers/computer equipment → ever-presentness of technology; technology's increasingly dominant role in our lives; technology obscuring what is really important; technology overshadowing what is natural
Time Transfixed
Replace locomotive with some piece of technology → invasiveness of technology; technology infiltrating every aspect of our lives; technology moving forth whether it's welcome or not
The Dominion Of Light
Replace street lamp with computer & accompanying glow from screen → computer alone are not sufficient to fulfill needs/desires, provide insight, etc.
