Welcome!
Hello, and welcome to the home of the first and only John Flansburgh Fanclub on the web. I created this site to provide a place to share information, photos, and anything else about the spectacled half of They Might Be Giants, John Flansburgh. John Linnell has had his own fanclub for a while now, so I figured that it was about time Flans got one, too. :)

As you'll see after looking around for a few minutes, this site relies pretty heavily on visitor submissions for the continued posting of new content. I will update and provide new content whenever possible, but I can in no way claim to be able to find all the Flans-related stuff floating around out there in the world wide mess. Therefore, whenever you stumble across something that isn't yet posted here, I'd really appreciate it if you could send it in.

So enjoy what I have here so far, and please feel free to send me any comments as to what you think I should add, improve, etc.

Just for kicks, check out the pictures from when I got to play Flans's guitar at the 4/20/00 show at the Bowery in NYC. It was totally sweet. :)

» 3/08/02: Yet Another New Article...
I added another new article, this one from SoundtrackNet. It talks a lot about TMBG's recent TV work, but also gets into some nice general, conversational stuff. I'm reading the previous update and absolutely cannot believe that today is already the day before spring break. Where'd the first half of the semester go? I want my two months back!

» 1/31/02: Another New Article
Well, the spring semester is a few weeks old, and I've officially entered full-blown "let's put off doing work for as long as is humanly possible" mode. As a result, I posted a new interview with Flans from the winter issue of Pop Culture Press instead of doing any of my homework. :) It's an interesting article that talks about how the band has grown & changed as a result of all the projects they've been into lately. Check it out.

» 12/30/01: New Article!
I added a nice new article from the December 2001 issue of Ink 19. It's a bit long, but talks alot about Flan's feelings about how Mink Car turned out and the band's approach to the album in general. It's pretty interesting and worth the read; check it out.
